Linux System Administrator - DevOps

Job Description

Ubisoft is looking for an experienced person with in-depth knowledge of AWS to join our Global Network Services (GNS) team. As a member of the GNS Business team working on the e-commerce project, you will participate in the creation, deployment and maintenance of our e-commerce infrastructure under AWS. You will ensure the proper functioning and continuous availability of our e-commerce micro-services applications. You will also participate in the maintenance and improvement of a newly deployed data ingestion and prediction pipeline under AWS Fraud ML. In this role, you will also create, maintain and improve the GitLab CI / CD pipeline for e-commerce development teams.


What does a linux admin do

As a Linux System Administrator (DevOps), this opportunity will allow you to work in a cutting edge, online micro-services environment. You will use many technologies and you will also be able to work on the automatic deployment and management of a cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

Work with DevOps best practices to implement CI / CD pipelines to design and build scalable, stable and efficient systems;

Monitor the system and identify patterns that affect the performance, reliability or availability of a product or service and correct them through automation or technological improvements;

Automate recurring tasks through scripts (Python, Bash, Go);

Maintain documentation regarding configurations, operations and troubleshooting procedures;

Participate in post-mortem analysis and root analysis;

Participate in the evaluation of new requirements, technological design, definition of standards, guidelines and choices of best practices to be used;

Be available to perform emergency interventions (must be able to work flexible hours and work overtime as needed);

Respond to user questions and service requests.

Qualifications

Training:

Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science or a related technical field (for example, physics or mathematics), or equivalent work experience.

Relevant experience :

3+ years of experience as a DevOps, SRE, or similar technical role, with a Kubernetes / Docker focus;

1+ year of experience in deploying and maintaining applications on AWS.

Skills and competences :

Experience and understanding of designing robust, scalable and highly available infrastructures on on-premise / cloud / hybrid systems;

Experience working with cloud providers such as AWS, Google, Azure;

Excellent knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker Helm and Rancher;

Expertise in Linux operating systems (CentOs, RHEL, Debian);

Excellent knowledge of scripting languages ​​(Bash, Go, Python);

Good knowledge of automation and orchestration tools (Chef, Docker, Kubernetes);

Good knowledge of Terraform (an asset);

Good knowledge of ELK technologies and other monitoring tools;

Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Mysql, Postgresql;

Experience with Web servers (Apache, Nginx);

Good knowledge of Gitlab, GitHub (CI / CD);

Bilingualism (French / English) is required both orally and in writing.
