Technology will only get us so far

With aviation passenger demand set to double over the next 20 years and many airports already experiencing peak time congestion, using existing assets more efficiently is an area of immediate focus. When industry leaders discuss how we will achieve this, the response is almost always – technology will solve it.

My view is that enhanced collaboration of an airport’s many stakeholders is actually the answer. Technology will only make airport businesses efficient to a certain degree; it is how the businesses work together that is often overlooked.

The airport is a unique operational environment. It requires many different organizations to work together to enable passengers and cargo to journey through the it. At large hub airports, this involves hundreds of companies – Heathrow, for example, states that over 400 organizations are involved in its operations. It is hard to see many other parallels in the business world, let alone the transportation field, with this multi-agency/business complexity aruba wireless certification.

How well stakeholders operate and collaborate in this airport ecosystem will determine the experience for the passenger. Where businesses at an airport demonstrate a silo behavior with a lack of planning and information sharing, the passenger experience will be inconsistent and ultimately frustrating.

At airports delivering consistently strong passenger service levels, it is often evidenced by more mature levels of B2B integrated working. The critical element here isn’t technology, it is how organizations work together – technology should be an enabler to make this easier.

High quality stakeholder management is key to delivering the collaboration needed for a seamless passenger experience. This requires us to listen and gather requirements on what each business and department needs to achieve in a change event. Understanding, listening, negotiating and resolving issues are the personal skills that change agents need to use in these environments.

What role does technology play?

With increasing digitization of the passenger journey – from biometric identity management and automated access control at the border to self-service bag drops – a huge amount of data is being captured by airlines, ground handlers and airport operators.

Ensuring continued high levels of integration across the passenger journey requires the sharing of this data and managing the stakeholders through this change process. Airports are highly regulated businesses operating to strict safety and security protocols, and sharing data requires overcoming commercial and confidential hurdles. Plus, the data needs to be cleaned up, anonymized and formatted so that it can be used by others.

The benefits technology brings aren’t being questioned here. Data analytics supports more efficient resourcing or improved use of airport assets, often managed through airport operational centers with many operational stakeholders collocated together.

Increasing automation delivers a faster service to the customer at key touchpoints, such as border control, potentially reducing dwell space. And technology enables new experiences to enhance the service to the customer or new revenue stream opportunities.

What is being questioned is whether we’re focusing so much on technology that we’re losing sight of the bigger picture: ensuring we all work together to achieve the best outcomes for the passenger.

The methods and assumptions that have long underpinned our airport designs are changing rapidly. The planning norms of the past need updating as airports demonstrate that they can use their assets to new levels of intensity and deliver greater service levels to their customers.

Diary of a student of DipIFR

Our today's publication is special: we are trying ourselves in a new genre - memoir and humorous. In this case, the Inflexio.RU website is not the author, but the publisher. Below, after my brief introduction, you can download a book by our listener Roman Levashov about his difficult path of preparation for the DipIFR exam.

And, although this story describes his personal training experience in our video course, it, like in a drop of water, reflected the experience of every former and current DipIFRyan: a difficult path to conquering personal peaks on the way to the coveted passing score on the exam.

Those who are now preparing for the exam will find it very useful to read the diary. You will hear firsthand what is important and what is not so important in preparation. You will be able to observe in an accelerated mode how, little by little, as the tasks are solved, the very skill for which you strive comes. You will see your feelings in the experiences of Roman, and, perhaps, this will give you strength accp courses.

But this diary, as it seems to me, will be of interest to those who have already “ fired off ” for a long time and for whom DipIFR is a part of the past. You already know that well is that which ends well! It will be pleasant for you to ride on the attraction called " roller coaster of emotions " if only because you have all this behind you.

In any case, I hope that anyone who undertakes to read this diary will enjoy the bright metaphors, fiery humor and excellent style of our today's author.

How blockchain can help your business grow

Since the introduction of Bitcoin in 2009, the world has changed the way it thinks about fiat currencies and digital security. People were thrilled that they could finally transfer digital currency to anywhere in the world without excessive bank charges or long hours.

The technology, however, has proven to be so versatile that it has found its way into other uses as well. In 2020, there are so many companies using blockchain that we just don't have time to list them all in one short article. But we'll do our best to give you some examples of how blockchain could help you.

More security acca certified

Hackers rarely sleep. This is a statement that Sony forgot in 2011 . While it is not clear whether they are now using blockchain or not, many other companies have started implementing it with great results.

The encryption technology used by the blockchain requires transactions and other processes to go through multiple nodes connected to the blockchain to gain approval. This way, if a hacker tries to do something malicious, the multiple nodes will eventually realize that fraud is involved and stop the transaction in its tracks.

More payment methods

People often think that the blockchain is for cryptocurrencies only. This is not true, at least more. Banks around the world have started implementing this technology to reduce transaction times and lower processing costs.

Additionally, companies that implement blockchain can use this technology to offer their customers multiple payment methods with seemingly endless currency options. One non-bank company that has proven the effectiveness of this method is PariConstruire , offering over 400 payment methods.

AI integration

Using blockchain, you can set up a reliable network of chatbots that can help your customers.

With the help of blockchain, these AI bots can easily communicate with each other and learn from each other based on what users respond to, how they rate their satisfaction with the chat and how customer support agents respond to users once the chatbot sends them their way.

Hire better employees

Small businesses often don't have the time or resources to double-check the information in a CV. But with the help of blockchain, you won't need any of these.

Even today, there are still a lot of people looking for a job who mercilessly lie on their resumes. The blockchain can process all the data on a CV and send you the verified information to see if it is legitimate.

Not only does this save you time, but it also means that you will have hired the right person for your future endeavors. And we all know what having the right person can mean if you want your business to be successful.

Improve your marketing campaigns

You are probably familiar with the usual marketing techniques like social media, video ads, billboards, SEO, SEM, etc. Listen, you won't need the blockchain to implement these tactics.

However, blockchain can be used by marketers to track customer information and consumer behavior. With this data, skilled marketers can create smart campaigns that deliver better ROI. You can also use the blockchain to track changes to your campaigns. If only David Ogilvy had had this technology at his disposal, who knows what he could have made.

Skills and qualities that an AS needs to be successful

So far we have discussed the technologies. But what about the skills and qualities that an AS should have?

According to the “IS 2010 Curriculum Guidelines,” a joint study by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Association for Information Systems (AIS), success in IT requires the following “fundamental knowledge and skills”:

Leadership and collaboration

Communication

Negotiation

Analytical and critical thinking

Creativity

Mathematics

Beyond formal education, qualified SAs should also have other skills, including analytical, communication and problem-solving skills. Unlike other IT roles, AS's work ranges from communicating to solving problems with their colleagues, both inside and outside the IT department.

In addition, AS must be able to train its employees, including those who do not work in the IT field. It is for this reason that he must have excellent communication skills. That said, the job of an AS is no longer to sit alone at his desk all day in front of his screen or flip through textbooks. He must also be able to understand the business and be cooperative.

This partly explains why many tech companies hire apprentices.

Prior to the introduction and generalization of the technologies described above, an AS could start their career as an auxiliary operator and learn the ropes as they progress through the ranks. But those days are over. If you look at AS jobs these days, most require 3-5 years of experience in the field skills for admin.

The challenges of next-generation system administrators

We are now in the era of "big data" and data center managers are forced to do more with a budget and reduced equipment. Corporate networks are overloaded as a large flow of data can come from the hardware used by their employees, especially from IoT devices. According to figures provided by McKinsey, the total size of the Internet of Things market will grow to more than 3.3 billion euros in 2020, with an annual growth rate of around 32.6%.

ASs have always been a part of troubleshooting computer hardware, setting up network cables, and monitoring data. Today, they also have to deal with new technologies that did not even exist ten years ago. It is therefore their responsibility to manage the connectivity of teleworkers, BYOD, their company's computer networks, the Internet of Things, Wi-Fi access, not to mention the security of all these access points.

What has changed this is that we are increasingly dependent on data centers in a digital obsessed society. This means that AS will always be of great use for users to enjoy continuous internet access without any network failure and no security breach.

Nowadays, ASs must be able to move, test, administer and above all secure network data in an optimal way. These executives can be considered as one of the links that guarantee the success of their company's strategic plan.

How to deal with these challenges?

The only thing ASs need to remember is that their work continues to evolve. An on-premises host server can currently contain several dozen virtual servers, each of which requires critical functions for several different tenants. Failure of hardware connected to this host server could impact a company's bottom line and reputation.

Many companies currently use the data itself as the heart of their business. Many data centers have also been designed to meet these demands. They adopt very powerful multi-core processors, BladeSystems - a platform and infrastructure and management that accelerate service delivery - and high bandwidth interfaces.

Additionally, today's network administrator faces a variety of regulations such as HIPAA, GDPR, and more. All of this only complicates an already difficult role for AS. To meet these challenges, he must therefore understand the IT ecosystem and continually adjust his skills.

Some ways to alleviate these difficulties

To keep their business running smoothly, to secure customer and employee data, and to comply with applicable regulations, ASs must:

Develop standard protocols that give privileges to each type of user and their roles;

Design machine learning algorithms to maximize data accessibility and security or increase storage capacity when demand is high;

Implement a multi-tier architecture for larger server deployments and adopt data archiving across multiple sites and across multiple formats;

Find ways to standardize the data center in order to streamline the deployment of hardware used by employees. This could include solutions like DNS filtering and the use of IoT sensors.

Establish a team of representatives from the C suite level to align business objectives with data center strategies;

Develop basic structures in order to integrate new technologies and improve the performance and reliability of their business.

The Complete Guide to Becoming a System Administrator

For decades, System Administrators have worked largely in the shadows to maintain the availability and uptime of your most critical IT services. And while the rise in DevOps and cloud computing has led to an increase in the number of people with the hybrid sysadmin / developer skillset, core sysadmin responsibilities will always be required. Today's sysadmins are well versed in both hardware and software — they can set up flexible and secure architectures to ensure business success.

System administrators are usually tasked with installing, maintaining, configuring, and repairing servers, networks, and other computer systems. They are passionate about both hardware and software - learning a little programming and scripting to perform tasks and actions in their applications and infrastructure. In the DevOps world, software developers are becoming more and more like sysadmins, and sysadmins are becoming more and more like developers - leading to better collaboration and stronger feedback across teams.

As the role of a sysadmin has changed a lot over the past decade, in 2019 we decided to create a complete guide to becoming a sysadmin. We'll first go over the basic roles and responsibilities of a sysadmin before diving into some of the tips.

Responsibilities and skills of the system administrator qualifications

As a System Administrator, you essentially support the entire technology and IT stack. And in the tech industry, that means you literally support the system, holding your entire business. Every second that your site or server goes down, it means lost productivity, revenue, and a huge waste of downtime. So, first of all, System Administrators must be effective problem solutions. With multiple operating systems, network configurations, and security concerns in mind, as an effective sysadmin, you can learn new things and maintain close ties with your development team.

If you need a subscription service for a computer or a system administrator for hire in Moscow and St. Petersburg, then you can contact here: svcnet.ru/services/abonentskoe-obsluzhivanie-komp-yuterov . Service and Networks has been successfully providing services in the field of Information Technology since 2009.

But for more details, let's take a look at 12 common sysadmin roles so you can better understand the skills and technologies you need to become familiar with.

Oracle Linux System Administrator

Although known for its database products and solutions, Oracle also has its own distribution of Linux, geared for the enterprise and designed to support cloud environments. In fact, Oracle Linux is optimized for various Oracle products and platforms, such as Oracle Exadata Database Machine, Oracle Exalytics In-Memory Machine, Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud and Oracle Database Appliance.

To support Oracle Linux, the company offers the Oracle linux sysadmin certification at Associate and Professional levels. A single Oracle Linux Certified Implementation Specialist credential is also offered. We focus on the Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) version in this section.

The OCP Oracle Linux System Administrator certification, currently at version 6 (although version 7 should be coming soon), covers a lot of details. Candidates must be well-versed on the Btrfs file system, control groups, Linux containers, advanced storage administration techniques, Oracle cluster management and package management. The certification also tests for knowledge of dump analysis, dynamic tracing, network and security configuration and more.

The OCP Oracle Linux System Administrator certification requires that candidates first obtain the Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) Oracle Linux 5 and 6 System Administrator certification and pass one exam.

SysAdmins who support Oracle Solaris might be interested in the Oracle Solaris System Administrator certification, which Oracle offers at the Associate and Professional levels. Oracle also offers several server-related certifications for SPARC and Fujitsu servers.

RHCE: Red Hat Certified Engineer

In the realm of Linux system administrator certifications, Red Hat certs really stand out. Red Hat's more senior-level certifications are especially popular among IT professionals as well as the employers who hire them. Those holding the Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) credential qualify for job roles such as senior Linux administrator, senior UNIX administrator, senior systems engineer, infrastructure systems engineer, IT analyst and the like.

The RHCE is regarded as a high-level credential that's not easy to obtain. Candidates must first obtain the Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) credential and then pass a three and a half hour, hands-on, performance-based exam that's intense and demanding. Those who earn the RHCE can go on to earn the Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) in Infrastructure credential.

The current RHCE exam is based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7. RHCE certification is valid for three years from the date the certification was achieved. To maintain the certification, a credential holder must pass any RHCA exam or pass the RHCE certification exam again before the end of the three-year period.

Note: In October 2018, IBM announced that it was acquiring Red Hat for the princely sum of $34 billion. It's too early to tell what impact this may have on Red Hat certification offerings, if any.

What kind of system administrators are there?

It so happens that I work as a system administrator. I will tell you what types of system administrators are. We will not consider small companies where the sysadmin is a versatile person who does all the work of system administration. Sooner or later, such a person leaves for a higher-paid job, where specialized specialists are appreciated.

A system administrator is a technical specialist with a high level of knowledge in related IT areas and a deep level of knowledge in one or more linux system admin day to day activities.

The professional growth of a system administrator is similar to the development branches of an RPG game character. The more you study, the more development directions are available.

Admin RPG

sysadmin

PC user .  Where do all admins start? They start with a personal computer. To administer a system, you need to know the system. This is not yet a system administrator, but the first step to him. Usually everyone starts with the Windows operating system.

A PC user should be able to:

Actually, use a computer. Switch on and off correctly. Be able to reboot. To do prophylaxis on the computer, wipe, clean dust.

Use the Internet.

Use e-mail and various messengers.

Have presentation and data security, set and change passwords, do not disclose passwords through open sources. Be able to back up important data for yourself.

Have an understanding of viruses, be able to scan for viruses.

Use office programs.

Eliminate minor malfunctions, for example, if a wire is disconnected.

Have an idea of the composition of the computer, be able to explain the problem to the administrator by phone.

Share files.

Be able to remotely use a computer, if allowed by the company.

Be able to connect to wireless networks.

Use hotkeys.

Be able to type.

There is no clear division between advanced and non-advanced users. PC User Evolution:

PC user, computer operator.

Confident PC user.

Advanced PC user.

Then the PC user becomes an administrator.

sysadmin

Advanced PC user . Advanced users can sometimes perform the duties of a system administrator in small companies. Colleagues ask those who know better to help with the computer.

A PC user should be able to:

Everything that an ordinary PC user can do, only deeper and deeper.

Be able to install and uninstall programs.

Remove viruses.

Be able to reinstall the Windows client OS.

Connect a printer.

Know what a computer consists of, be able to disassemble and assemble, replace a faulty part.

Have a desire to learn new things.

sysadmin

User 1C . PC user who can work in 1C. This is also not a system administrator, but some positions imply the ability to work in 1C. Here I mean not just a PC user with knowledge of 1C, but a confident PC user with knowledge of 1C.

A 1C user should be able to:

Everything that an ordinary PC user can do, only more. You need to be a confident PC user.

Be able to work with 1C.

sysadmin

English language. This "talent" is indicated in the RPG scheme for a reason. Knowledge of English is a must for a system administrator. He must:

confidently read technical literature at least

as a maximum - communicate fluently in English on the phone.

From my own experience, I can say that there are problems, the solution of which can only be found on English-language resources.

sysadmin

Purchasing . Equipment and software procurement specialist. With minimal knowledge, such a person can call potential suppliers and use 1C. Such a person will need the help of a specialist to clarify the details of the order. A good purchasing professional doesn't need the help of colleagues. He understands technology and knows what he is buying, for what, and how it will all work. You need to understand brands: HPE, Dell, Cisco, 1C, Supermicro, etc.

Small companies usually do not have a dedicated sysadmin who only deals with procurement. But in large ones - a common thing.

sysadmin

Windows administrator . He understands the operation of client and server systems based on the Windows OS. Installing and configuring the operating system, troubleshooting, software installation. Deep knowledge in related software.

Free web monitoring tools to stay connected

Web applications, blogs? You need web monitoring tools!

In French the word "present" has two meanings: the present, this moment that you are reading this article, or a gift among others. There is no confusion here, but the adjective "free" can mean free, without cost, and free, that he has freedom. Today we will see several free applications that you can use as web monitoring tools junior linux administrator.

Web server monitoring

What are we looking for in web monitoring tools? What is a web server?

It is a computer or device capable of offering information or data by means of a protocol (or securely by HTTPS). For your supervision, we consider two main areas: internal supervision and external supervision.

In the internal part, there are three crucial points:

General state of your Web server: load, disk space, temperature of the components (if not virtual), ie the basic values of any server.

Web traffic: open connections, listening, addresses, etc.

Information in the logs : it is very important to configure, since you have several domains on the same web server, each with its independent file.

For external supervision :

Simple tests: if it is online, response time, certificates expiration (if using HTTPS), etc.

Transactional web monitoring: it monitors the processes that respond to a series of steps. The simplest example is if a user can connect to your web server (say you have a simple blog with WordPress installed).

Pandora FMS

If you are a new reader of our blog, here is a surprise: the free version of Pandora FMS is able to work with the 3 points of internal supervision (by means of software agents) and the first point of external supervision!

Can't you believe it ? I explain to you.

You can find more information on everything that has been described so far at this link .

You are probably using a web server with Apache: for this specific case we have a great article written by the creator and founder of Pandora FMS.

The network management (local or extended) indirectly participates in the Web supervision.

After using Pandora FMS and / or some of the web monitoring tools shown here, you can perform web optimization , since the performance of web applications has become a key element for the proper functioning of organizations.

banner desktop free trial 100 device

Web monitoring tools

I come back to the subject of free or "free" applications: the web monitoring tools that I include also have more permissive licenses, like the one from MIT or the same Apache license, or more restrictive such as the free ones. Since this is a very broad subject, Wikipedia collects a large number, if not all.

Another type of web monitoring tool that I must name is the one offered as a physical service from different parts of the world. Although some are free programs , it is obvious that there is a monetary cost to maintain virtual or real machines all over the planet, so that they regularly access your website from so far away and let you know.

With these explanations, let's now see the web monitoring tools.

Only

Yes, you yourselves, as programmers, can use "real user supervision," placing specific instructions before and after your code does read and / or write operations on your web server, then by keeping an additional journal. Later, we'll see its counterpart, User Experience ( UX ).

I must also mention the figure of the "poor man": on the CodeProject site there is a tool with a personalized free license which indicates how to work practically by hand (I do not recommend this method, I include it only for educational purposes) .

Linux Dash

I consider it the lightest, but don't be fooled by appearances. It has been created in a minimalist but versatile way: you can use Go, Python or Node.js languages, because surely some of these working environments are already installed on your system. This way, you don't add a load just to install a web monitoring tool.

The two most particular ways you're probably going to experience are Information Technology and Computer Science. It's anything but difficult to confound the two, yet every one of these controls requests an alternate arrangement of aptitudes and an alternate sort of demeanor.

Here, we will take a gander at the contrasts between computer science vs information systems. We're likewise going to investigate the sort of profession you can expect of each, and which may be the most ideal alternative dependent on your abilities and work inclinations.

The contrast between Information Technology and Computer Science

Initially, IT (data innovation) vocations are more about introducing, keeping up, and improving PC frameworks, working organizations, and information bases. In the interim, software engineering is tied in with utilizing science to program frameworks to run all the more productively, remembering for plan and improvement.

While software engineering training isn't vital for an IT profession, some IT instruction is crucial for a software engineering qualification that later prompts openings for work. It very well may be spent significant time in various manners, however CS graduates have openings quickly accessible to them that IT qualified laborers don't.

The workplaces anticipated from the two professions can change generally, as well. Most IT experts function as a component of a group in an association, serving inward needs or working legitimately with customers. PC researchers, be that as it may, work in organizations, universities, computer game advancement organizations, or as specialists. Notwithstanding which offers more, there's a lot of potential for profession development and worthwhile openings for work in the two fields.

How would I get a vocation in data innovation?

To begin a vocation in IT, you ordinarily expect two-to-four-year degree programs in an IT related subject. Some IT colleagues do begin in help work area positions with considerably less instruction and get preparing through their boss, be that as it may.

Close by the correct four year certification, preparing, and experience, abilities considered fundamental for IT jobs incorporate inclination with Linux and SQL, just as venture the executives aptitudes, specialized help abilities, and client care abilities.

As you progress through an IT profession, software engineering abilities and programming information can enable you to progress. All things considered, IT can fill in as a gateway to software engineering professions. In any case, IT experts are required to stay up with the latest with the most recent advances.

What does a profession in data innovation resemble?

IT occupations are ever on the ascent, with an expected 15 to 37% expansion in open employment functions by 2026, as indicated by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. It's one of the quickest developing occupation sorts of all, with appeal prompting a normal yearly compensation of around $86k.

Crafted by an IT pro can vary incredibly yet, much of the time, they are there to understand business measures utilizing innovations they have ability in. Frequently they fill in as a major aspect of a group and with different offices or customers. A great deal of crafted by an IT proficient includes finding and actualizing advancements with existing frameworks that help meet the objectives of the customer or boss.

What are the different types of electrical courses?

Electrician courses

There are four different types of electrician courses: professional, amateur, advanced, and online. These courses provide the information you need to work safely and efficiently with electricity. All houses and buildings with electricity use the electrical grid. This power supply requires special training for safe use, but has a wide variety of applications computer science vs computer engineering.

Electrician courses offered in full-time to become an electrician programs provide the depth and breadth of information needed to work as a professional in the field. These courses have prerequisites, exams and assignments. Upon successful completion, the student can write a licensing exam and become a professional electrician.

A community center or college usually offers electrician courses for hobbyists. Courses usually last four to five weeks and cover a very specific curriculum. The information provided is at a basic or intermediate level. Students are shown how to wire a circuit, read a basic electrical drawing, and know when to call an electrician. Some courses are for homeowners and provide information on how to assess or troubleshoot connectivity issues.

Advanced electrical courses are usually offered as part of a continuing education program for licensed electricians. Options include sessions to update new legislation, test improvements, and installation tools. Sometimes suppliers are encouraged to showcase new products for practicing electricians.

Online courses are a great way to learn basic electrical and circuit theory information. These courses are widely available and offer access to recorded lectures, reading materials, and group discussions. Be sure to check the qualifications of the teacher and the school before paying the registration fee.

The quality of the teaching is very important for the electrician. Incorrect information can lead to unsafe wiring, incorrect procedures, and can have serious consequences. Electricity is very powerful and must be treated to avoid injury.

People who report the most satisfaction with these courses have clear results. They are focused, dedicated and determined to absorb the information they need. Many hobbyists and homeowners sign up for an electric course to solve a specific problem or problem. During these courses, they learn enough to be able to discuss their problems directly with an electrician and understand the implications of different options.

When looking for electrician courses, take the time to read the course description, prerequisites, and course results. This information gives a clear idea of what subjects will be covered and the target audience for the course material. While many schools will allow amateurs to take professional courses, this is not the best use of your time unless you have a background to understand the material and fully participate in the course.
